Programme of VE Events in Banff for May 2025

Events In Connection With VE DAY in Banff

Friends of Duff House, Banff Castle, Banff Preservation and Heritage Society and Museum of Banff have put together a programme of events in the first half of May, centred around VE Day 80 on 8th May.

Friends of Duff House have an Exhibition in the Long Gallery from 1st May; tells all the Many Lives of Duff House during 1939-45, including the output from some new research, and the first public showing of a mystery map drawn on a wall.

Banff Castle also have an exhibition, “Banffshire at War“, in the room above the cafe. Also a showing of “Casablanca“, the film set in the war.

Wed 14th also has an illustrated talk by John Cameron, “A Wartime Childhood”, telling his memories of that time.

The Museum of Banff has a number of world war items on display.
