Created for the Year of Young People, Karen Curran’s work follows the lives of a group of children, from the start of the Millennium through their first 18 years.
Focusing on one child in particular, she demonstrates the highs and lows in the transition from child to young adult and the impact it can have on ones perspective on life.
Children’s early years feature costumes, dressing up and role playing in fantasy worlds and worlds of carefree play which can later in life be seen to define identity but also to protect and hide the consequences of significant change.
