General Jose de San Martin, Liberator of Argentina, Chile and Peru became a Freeman of
Banff in 1824.
Banff Preservation and Heritage Society have put together a 200th anniversary exhibition at the Museum of Banff.
– Tell the story of the visit to Banff in 1824,
– Describe the history of General Jose de San Martin, the liberator of Argentina,
Chile and Peru.
– Throw new light on the visit of Ambassador Carlos Hogan in 1950, on the
anniversary of the death of Jose de San Martin.
– Investigate masonic connections
– Highlight the modern-day links between Argentina and Banff
